Slovenia Fails to Qualify for Olympic Games

Ljubljana, 12 May - WATER/POLO/QUALIFICATIONS
Slovenia's water polo team beat Columbia 11:7 (5:0, 1:2, 4:2, 1:3) in qualifications for this year's Olympic Games, but nevertheless failed to qualify for the Sydney Olympics. The Slovene team placed 13th, much below expectations. While Russians, Slovaks and Yugoslavs secured their tickets to Sydney yesterday, a fourth team will be known after today's match between Greece and the Netherlands, and the last one on Sunday.
