Amato Asked to Issue Decree on Protection of Slovene Minority

The Trieste court of appeal sent Italian Prime Minister Giuliano Amato a request in which a Trieste-based Slovene political association Edinost asks Amato to issue a decree by the end of June in order to secure the implementation of obligations related to the Slovene minority taken on by Italy in Article 8 of the Osimo Agreement. The request was sent last Wednesday, was announced to the public on Monday by Edinost.
