Slovenia Wants to be Invited to the EU, Says Kucan

Slovenia, when it meets conditions for EU membership, wishes to be invited to the EU and does not want to remain in the position of an applicant, said Slovene President Milan Kucan on Wednesday after he addressed members of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. In its preparations for EU membership Slovenia appreciates every advice, yet does not want the role of a learner, but that of a partner state that is fully integrated into the dialogue on the European future, Slovene President said.
