Rupel Advocates Joint "Fight" of Aspirants for NATO Membership
Vilnius, 19 May - Outgoing Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel on Friday in Vilnius, where he attended a Slovene-Lithuanian conference on NATO's role in the changing security environment in Europe, advocated a joint "fight" of the aspirant countries to reach their goal, i.e. NATO membership. Rupel said that the joint statement, which was adopted on Friday by foreign ministers or their deputies of all nine aspirant countries for NATO membership, was "the right step in the right direction at the right time".
