Europe Marks Day of Parks on 24 May

European Day of Parks is being marked in Slovenia and other European countries for the second consecutive year on 24 May. The idea behind the day is to spread the knowledge and awareness about the importance of protecting the environment, biotic diversity and sustainable development in protected natural areas. Slovenia has 710 natural reserves and monuments stretching over 144,509 hectares.
