Central Bank Determined to Stick to Tight Monetary Policy

Ljubljana, 24 May - Slovenia has achieved encouraging results in economic growth and the short-term prospects on foreign markets are positive. At the same time there has been a growing pressure on inflation as a result of higher prices of energy and some major goods on world markets as well as price hikes on the domestic market. In the given situation the Council of the Bank of Slovenia believes that it is necessary to pursue a tight monetary policy to curb inflation, the central bank said on Wednesday.
