Verheugen Hopes for a Prompt Resolution of Political Crisis in Slovenia

European Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen hopes for a prompt resolution of the current political situation in Slovenia, so that preparations for membership in the EU can continue with full speed and under the most favourable conditions. Such was a statement by Verheugen's spokesperson Jean Christophe Filori, after the EU negotiator with Slovenia Jaime Garcia Lombardero stated on Tuesday that Slovenia has lost some valuable time in preparations for the EU due to the current political crisis.
