Exhibition 'Slovenia - Coinage and History' to Open in Stockholm

Swedish Ambassador to the United Nations Jan Martenson will on Thursday open an exhibition entitled 'Slovenia - Coinage and History' at the Swedish Royal Coin Cabinet (Myntkabinettet) in the old town of Stockholm. The exhibition, prepared by the Slovene National Museum, includes over 3,100 specimen presenting the coinage development in Slovenia and the country's history in the period between 43,000 B.C., which was documented by the find of a Neanderthal pipe near Idrija in Southwestern Slovenia, and the declaration of Slovenia's independence in 1991.
