Slovenia Expects to Get First Transition Period Approved

Ljubljana/Brussels, 26 May - SLOVENIA/EU/NEGOTIATIONS
Slovenia launch negotiations on three further chapters of the acquis in a new round of talks in Brussels on Friday. These chapters include free movement of persons, justice and home affairs, as well as financial and budgetary provisions. Negotiations on freedom to provide services will continue, and as chief Slovenia's negotiator with the EU Janez Potocnik explained, Slovenia expects implicit approval of the first transition period in the negotiations with any of the front-runners that have been negotiating with the EU for two years.
