Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 20 through 26 May
Ljubljana, 27 May - The government crisis did not come to an end last week, but rather aggravated. After the list of ministerial candidates proposed by Prime Minster-Designate Andrej Bajuk failed to be elected by parliament in a repeated vote, Bajuk and his team brought an action to the supreme court against the parliamentary electoral commission, which decided to repeat the secret vote after it allegedly could not agree on the validity of two of the ballot papers. Meanwhile, Slovene President Milan Kucan repeated that the result of the vote was a new proof that elections are the only good solution for the state.
