Adoption of Media and Telecommunications Acts Urgent This Year, Says Lombardero
Ljubljana, 29 May - Slovenia has "some homework to do" in bringing its legislation in line with the EU acquis in the field of audio-visual policy and telecommunications, said Jaime Garcia Lombardero, who is in charge of Slovenia at the European Commission, after the first session of the innovations subcommittee which took place in Ljubljana on Monday. He explained that Slovenia should adopt the media and telecommunications acts by the end of the year. Lombardero said that Monday's meeting was very fruitful and expressed hope that the subcommittee, which is one of the joint Slovene-EU bodies set down in the Europe agreement, would in a year establish certain progressed in all four fields that it monitors.
