Number of Prisoners in Slovenia is on the Rise
Ljubljana, 4 July - The number of prisoners in Slovenia is still increasing, data for 1999 and the first half of 2000 show. Since 1996 the number of prisoners has increased by almost 50 percent, director of the office for implementation of prison sentences Dusan Valentincic told the press on Tuesday. Despite the increase, Slovenia is still among the countries with the smallest number of prisoners per capita.
