Two Slovene Mayors Protest Closing of Duty-Free Shops
Ljubljana, 14 July - Mayors from two Western Slovene border municipalities expressed their disapproval to the reorganisation of duty free shops at road border crossings which should take effect as of 1 January 2001, as was passed by the previous Slovene government. The protest was expressed at a press conference on Friday and coincides with the nearing visit of European Commissioner on Enlargement Guenter Verheugen to Slovenia.
