Delo Comments Slovenia's Irrigation Programme

Ljubljana, 18 July - According to Minister for Agriculture Ciril Smrkolj, 60,000 hectares of land originally meant for irrigation has been reduced to 3,700 hectares after the World Bank for Reconstruction and Development concluded that it does not have enough money to sponsor the national irrigation programme which was adopted in 1995. This, however, is almost inconceivable, the daily Delo writes about drought-related problems on Tuesday.
