Slovene Mountaineers Plan to Reach over 7,000 Metre-High Peaks in Kirghizia

Ljubljana, 26 July - A Slovene mountaineering expedition has left for Kirghizia, a republic in central Asia. The 12-member expedition will attempt to reach the two northernmost peaks in the Tian Shan range on the border between Kirghizia, Kazakhstan and China. Both over 7,000 metre high, Han Tengri (7,010) and Pik Pobedy (7,439) are extremely hard to access on account of changing weather conditions.
