Velenje, 7 January - NSZS/ZHIRINOVSKY/EXPLANATION
The National-Social Union of Slovenia (NSZS), a non-parliamentary party, explained that it had invited "the controversial Russian politician Zhirinovsky" to Slovenia because it found him "interesting as a politician of the Russian new wave" and because "this would be the cheapest way of promoting the NSZS before the local elections".
