Six EU Candidate Countries to Preserve Nuclear Plants in the Near Future
Brussels, 7 September - Nuclear power plants will remain a significant part of the energy sector in at least six out of 13 EU candidate countries in the foreseeable future, according to a report on nuclear safety in candidate countries which was made public by the European Commission on Thursday. Six candidates, including Slovenia, have nuclear units which are suitable for further operations until their life span is over, the report said.
