Liberal Democrats Enjoy Strong Support, Shows Opinion Poll
Ljubljana, 8 September - As many as 22 percent of the respondents in an opinion poll on political developments in Slovenia in August would vote for the opposition Liberal Democrats (LDS), which is a similar share the LDS received in July's poll (22.3 percent). The coalition SLS+SKD Slovene People's Party on the other hand received a mere 6.3-percent support by the respondents, which was only half as much as in July (11.2 percent). The results of the opinion poll were presented on Friday by head of the centre in charge of measuring the public opinion poll and mass communications Niko Tos, who explained that the August opinion poll was carried out per telephone between 28 and 31 August among 905 respondents.
