Representatives of Liberal Democratic Party, Democratic Party, Socialist Party of Slovenia and Greens - Ecological Social Party Discuss Party Merger

Representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDS), led by Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek, the parliamentary opposition Democratic Party (DS) and the Greens - Ecological Social Party (ZESS), and the extra-parliamentary Socialist Party of Slovenia (SSS), met on Monday behind closed doors to discuss a merger of the four parties. The representatives agreed that the parties should be merged into a new unified party, said Borut Šuklje, a representative of the SSS, in an STA interview on Tuesday.
