Slovenia Ascribes Great Importance to Stability Pact, Says Podobnik

Zagreb, 12 September - SLOVENIA/STABILITYPACT
Speaker of Slovene Parliament Janez Podobnik, who attended the meeting of parliamentary speakers from countries participating in the Stability Pact in Zagreb on Tuesday, stressed in his address that a Europe governed by peace, stability and welfare, is in Slovenia's national interest. Speakers opening the two-day meeting, including the Pact's co-ordinator Bodo Hombach, advocated the strengthening of economic and political co-operation in the region, and stressed that there would be no peace in the region until Slobodan Milosevic is in power in Yugoslavia.
