Samaranch Receives Slovene Pupil
Sydney, 15 September - President of the International Olympics Committee Juan Antonio Samaranch received a Slovene pupil in Sydney ahead of the opening of the Olympic Games. The 13-year-old Mateja Prunk was the winner of the UN Peace Flag Project, as her drawing of the world peace flag was chosen to be printed as an official UN stamp. The reception in the television tower in Sydney, where the Olympic exhibition of stamps and coins opened, was also attended by representatives of the UN, Unesco and the World Post Organisation.
