Slovenia a Serious Partner of the U.S. and the UN, Says Peterle
New York, 16 September - Slovene Foreign Minister Lojze Peterle said on Friday that Slovenia had in the past six years asserted itself as a welcome partner of the U.S. as well as other states in the UN. "Modestly said, Slovenia's reputation in the world is not negligible," said Peterle upon his return from Washington, where he met the Senator of Ohio, Republican George Voinovich and Democrat Congressman James Oberstar of Minnesota, as well as chairman of the U.S. NATO committee Bruce Jackson. On Saturday, Peterle will adress the 55th UN General Assembly, where he will announce the Slovene government's decision to increase its contribution for the peace-keeping operations.
