Slovenia is One of the Most Promising EU Candidates, Says Verheugen
Brussels, 19 September - Slovene Prime Minister Andrej Bajuk is optimistic about Slovenia's accession to the EU after meeting with President of the European Commission Romano Prodi on Tuesday. Slovenia has committed itself to be ready for EU membership by the target date set for the of end 2002, said Bajuk and added that the pre-election period will not obstruct the process of EU accession as an inter-parliamentary consensus exists on this issue in Slovenia.
