Slovenia will Have To Amend Its Constitution Prior to Joining the EU, Legal Experts Agree
Bled, 20 September - Slovenia will have to amend its constitution prior to joining the EU as the current constitutional order does not allow for the transformation of sovereign rights to other subjects of the international community. Under the current constitutional order Slovenia will thus not be able to ratify the EU accession agreement, said deputy director of the Government Office for Legislation (SVZ) Tone Dolcic at a two-day conference on harmonisation of Slovene legislation with the acquis.
