Slovenia's Second Gold - Debevec Finally Tastes Victory

Sydney, 23 September - Slovene shooter Rajmond Debevec brought Slovenia its second ever Olympic gold medal, only a few hours after Slovene rowers Iztok Cop and Luka Spik created history by winning the first Olympic gold medal in the history of the independent Slovenia. Debevec finished with a score of 1275.1 in the 50-metre rifle, 3 position, beating out Finland's Juha Hirvi and Norway's Harald Stenvaag.
