Dnevnik: President Kucan on AVNOJ Decisions and Elections in Yugoslavia
Ljubljana, 23 September - "The AVNOJ issue has been forced upon us from the outside; it has been brought into the internal dispute by ideologic shortsightedness. Tanks of the Yugoslav army in Slovenia in 1991 made an end to the AVNOJ Yugoslavia. It was that which crushed the former Yugoslavia, and not Slovenia's enforcement of the right of self-determination and the disintegration that followed. That remains important today, because the world is still leading discussions about what split the former Yugoslavia and who is to blame," Slovene President Milan Kucan said in an interview for the Slovene daily Dnevnik published on Saturday.
