Valant Out in First Series of Final, Finishes Ninth

Sydney, 24 September - Slovenia's Anja Valant placed ninth in the final of the Olympic triple jump women's competition. Valant finished her appearance in the Olympic triple jump competition in the first series of jumps of the final after she jumped 13.59 m in her third attempt of the first series, which was not enough to allow her to advance into the second series of the finals. The winner of the women's triple jump was Bulgaria's Tereza Marinova with a jump of 15.20 metres.
