Ljubljana, 24 September - At Thursday's session the government conceded to the demands of Slovene transport workers and reduced the petrol tax on diesel oil by 11.3 percent, thus preventing protests around the country. At its session the government also decided to dismiss the Acting General Manager of Slovenia's electricity supplier (ELES) Vekoslav Korosec and replaced him with Vitoslav Turk, the head of the trade department in ELES. According to the electricity supplier, the decision to dismiss Korosec is based on changes to the act on the government and to the ELES statute, while Korosec believes that the move is purely of a political nature.
