Primorski Dnevnik: Controversial Commemoration of the Carinthian Plebiscite

Trieste, 10 October - PRESS/MINORITY
According to daily Primorski Dnevnik the results of the Carinthian plebiscite 80 years ago, when the majority of Carinthian Slovenes opted for Austria are no excuse for the minority assimilation politics of the Austrian authorities, something the Austrian government has never condemned. So there is really no point for Carinthian and Austrian politicians to correct an 80-year long history. If Vienna truly believes that the Slovenes chose Austria at the plebiscite for its greatness, it should prove it with facts. As long as it does not, anybody has the right to believe this belief is merely a facade.
