Potocnik: The Date of the End of Negotiations Next Year, Says Finland
Helsinki, 12 October - By the end of the Swedish presidency over the EU in the first half of 2001, the EU will be able to set the date of the end of the accession negotiations, but probably not the date of the actual enlargement, believes Finland. The enlargement will most likely take place with a small group of the most prepared countries, amongst which is Slovenia, said the Finnish Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kimmo Sasi in a conversation with the Chief of the Slovene negotiating team with the EU, Janez Potocnik.
