Maribor, 15 October - It would be too simple to say that it is the dispute-ridden spring parties (i.e. centre-right) which are the most merited for the overwhelming victory of the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS) in the parliamentary elections. The LDS benefited not just from its opponents, which could easily write a guide on how to loose an election on the basis of their past experience, but it was forced by its own retreat from power last May to get rid of some of its past "imperial arrogance" and shake off the image of a party of yuppies and cold-blooded pragmatics, the Maribor daily states in Monday's issue.
