60 MPs Elected Directly, 28 in the Second Round of Seat-Distribution, CATI Centre Says
Ljubljana, 16 October - On the basis of unofficial results of general elections 2000, the CATI Centre, a public opinion research institute, made a projection of candidates who have managed to secure a seat in the 90-seat parliament; according to the CATI Centre, 60 MPs have been elected directly (the Droop quotient), while the rest of 28 MPs will make it into the parliament on the basis of the second distribution of mandates based on the d'Hondt quotient. This second distribution is based on a simulation of the country as one electoral unit.
