National Radio Comments on 2000 Elections: Both SLS+SKD and SDS Defeated
Ljubljana, 16 October - While figures show a total defeat of the SLS+SKD Slovene People's Party, its President Franc Zagozen is more of a sacrificial victim of the overwhelmed right than a loser of the general elections. This statement could be best proven with election results; with turnout by a few percentage points lower than four years ago, the parties positioned to the right of the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS) have lost one third of seats, while the LDS has garnered ten more than in 1996 elections.
