Croatia's Power Supplier Takes Slovene Counterpart to Court
Zagreb, 17 October - The first hearing in a case brought against the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant (NEK) and Slovenia's electricity supplier ELES by Croatia's power company (HEP) took place on Tuesday at the Zagreb trade court. The plaintiff is suing the defendants for a debt of US$ 137.6 million which emerged after Slovenia stopped supplying Croatia with NEK-produced electricity in July of 1998. The N-power plant is jointly owned by Slovenia and Croatia and is situated at the Slovene city of Krsko.
