Slovene Gov't Official Disappointed with Venice Commission Finding
Ljubljana, 20 October - "We are not hiding our disappointment over the fact that the decision of the Venice Commission which is being debated, does, to a great extent, not consider the progress in the development of supranational and national constitutional law," stressed member of this Commission and Slovene Interior Minister Peter Jambrek and the legal advisor to the Prime Minister Klemen Jaklic. According to the pair the amendment of the Slovene Constitution so as to write in an amended proportional representation system can be supported "only from a strict legal viewpoint and only in the framework of national constitutional legal order".
