SLS+SKD President Announces He Will No Longer Stand for Post
Ljubljana, 20 October - President of the SLS+SKD Slovene People's Party Franc Zagozen announced that he will propose to the party's executive committee that a party congress be held before Christmas and not in the spring of 2001 as was earlier planned. Zagozen also added that he will no longer stand for president of the party at that congress. Zagozen's comments come at the side of the SLS+SKD executive committee meeting which is aimed at analysing the poor showing of the party at last Sunday's general elections and possibilities of participating in a coalition government with the Liberal Democracy (LDS).
