Vecer Comments on Skopje Summit and Yugoslavia's Admission to the Stability Pact
Maribor, 27 October - The Skopje summit is supposed to inspire the world with optimism. For instance, the Spanish paper La Vanguardia says that the European powder keg has finally opened a new chapter. Well, this is how the Spanish see it. Some nice words were said in Skopje alright, but have not significantly reduced differences or tensions which are likely to continue between Yugoslavia, Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Bolgaria. The fact that Yugoslavia was invited to the Stability Pact does not imply that the region has actually become stabile, Vecer writes on Friday.
