European Footpaths Commission to Promote the Idea of Hiking in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 2 November - An agreement on the establishment of the European Footpaths Commission in Slovenia, by which Slovenia will be promoted within the European long distance paths system, was signed on Thursday. Moreover, the commission will promote the natural, ethnologic, historical and cultural sights in Slovenia as well as the idea of hiking. Director of the Slovene Forestry Institute Andrej Kermavnar said after the signing of the agreement that the establishment of the commission presented the beginning of an activity in Slovenia, which has only started to develop.
