Peterle Urges for Major Significance of European Court Judgements
Rome, 3 November - "The states signatories of the European Convention of Human Rights should invest more legislative effort into transposing the acquis conventionnel into the respective national legislation and into their judicial practices. This should be done through the re-trial of cases before national courts and on the basis of the binding nature of the European Court's decisions," Slovene Foreign Minister Lojze Peterle said in an address to the CoE conference marking the 50th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights which is held in Rome.
