Coalition Talks Continue on Saturday
Ljubljana, 4 November - Informal talks between potential coalition partners have been underway since Saturday morning at the headquarters of the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS), which secured 34 seats in the parliament at the recent elections. Most serious negotiations have been conducted with the United List of Social Democrats (ZLSD), the Pensioner's Party (DeSUS) and the Youth Party (SMS), as well as the SLS+SKD Slovene People's Party. In the afternoon, LDS President and the most likely prime minister-designate Janez Drnovsek and ZLSD President ZLSD Borut Pahor are to hold a meeting, while talks with the SLS+SKD are to continue in the evening. A draft coalition agreement is to be harmonised by Sunday evening, and the signing is to follow on Monday.
