Shooter Rajmond Debevec Presented Slovene Sportsman of the Year Award
Ljubljana, 7 November - The Slovene shooter Rajmond Debevec, who won a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney, has received the award for the Slovene sportsman of the year presented by the Slovene publishing house Delo. The "Leon Award", dedicated to the memory of the best Slovene Olympian Leon Stukelj, was this year given away for the fourth time. A special award for the coach of the year went to the Slovene football selector Srecko Katanec, while the athlete Brigita Langerholc, who placed fourth in the 800 m run at the Olympics, was awarded a one-year scholarship sponsored by the largest Slovene bank Nova Ljubljanska banka.
