Slovenia at 71 Percent of EU's GDP Average in 1999
Ljubljana, 8 November - The purchasing power according to Slovenia's GDP per capita amounted to 15,000 euros in 1999. According to Eurostat Slovenia narrowed the difference with the EU average by two index points and reached 71 percent, thus coming in second after Cyprus of all the EU candidates. Both countries got ahead of Greece, the country with the lowest GDP in the EU.
