Dnevnik on LDS's Line on Religious Classes
Ljubljana, 11 November - A decision of a Slovene synodal meeting that the Church should make efforts to have one of optional school classes replaced by religious classes taught by priests, was flatly overshadowed by hectic political developments last week. What comes as the greatest surprise is a statement made by Archbishop Franc Rode that Janez Drnovsek had nothing against that. Furthermore, Rode was hopeful that the likely prime minister-designate would stick to his stance and "give the office of education minister to a person who would not oppose such a development".
