Cycling: Giro d'Italia in Ljubljana on 29 May
Milan, 11 November - The 2001 Giro d'Italia was presented to the public on Saturday in the Italian city of Milan. The race will begin on 19 May in Pescara, and will run through Slovenia for the first time after 1994. The tenth leg (29 May) will begin at Lido de Jesolo, only to finish in the Slovene capital of Ljubljana. On the next day cyclists will head towards the Slovene lake-side resort of Bled, north of Ljubljana, to finish at the Italian border city of Gorizia.
