Major General Garret: Slovenia Has Implemented Several Guidelines of Defence Reform Study
Ljubljana, 16 November - Slovenia has achieved substantial progress in implementing the assessment study on the reform of the Slovene defence since September, when Slovene Defence Minister Janez Jansa in Washington received the official copy of the document, which was jointly drafted by US and Slovene experts. This observation was made by Major General Joseph Garrett, head of the team that prepared the study, at a news conference in Ljubljana on Thursday. Minister Jansa awarded Major General Garrett the Gold Medal of the Slovene Armed Forces in appreciation for his work, advice and personal engagement in the project and his encouragement of the U.S.-Slovene co-operation in defence.
