Minister Umek Leaves for the UN Climate Conference in the Hague
The Hague, 20 November - Minister of the Environment Andrej Umek will join the Slovene delegation at the UN climate conference in the Hague on Monday. The conference, which has been underway for a week now, is to lay down the rules and procedures for implementing the emissions cuts agreed upon in the Kyoto protocol in Japan three years ago. The protocol has been signed by 84 countries, among them Slovenia in December 1997, and ratified by 30 countries.
