Nearly 670,000 Euros Earmarked for Landslide-Hit Region
Ljubljana, 20 November - Convening for an emergency session, the government discussed on Monday the situation in the northwesternmost part of Slovenia which has been hit by a landslide, earmarking SIT 140 million (app. euro 669,800) to cover the most urgent expenses resulting from a rescue operation at Log pod Mangartom, including the accommodation of the local people who were evacuated from the area. The damage caused by the landslide which hit the region first on Wednesday and then in the night from Thursday to Friday has not yet been fully estimated, the head of the national civil protection headquarters, Miran Bogataj, told the press after the session.
