Slovenia and FRY to Establish Diplomatic Relation; Succession a Hard Nut to Crack
Ljubljana, 21 November - After the government of FRY adopted a decree on establishing diplomatic relations with Slovenia last Monday, the actual establishment of diplomatic relations has become a matter of days. Companies in both countries have already expressed their interest in strengthening economic cooperation, which will be made easier by the establishment of diplomatic relations. The Slovene Chamber of Commerce (GZS) opened on Monday its office in Belgrade, which should help businessmen of both countries to get into contact. State Secretary Anton Grabeljsek from the ministry of economic relations and development will pay an official visit to Belgrade on Wednesday. The foreign ministers of Slovenia and FRY are expected to meet soon, too, maybe as early as next week. Slovene Metropolitan and Archbishop of Ljubljana Franc Rode left for Belgrade on Tuesday and is expected to meet with the Serb Patriarch Pavle on Wednesday.
