Summit of the Central European Initiative Underway
Budapest, 24 November - A two-day summit of Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers from the countries of the Central European Initiative began Friday in Budapest. Representing Slovenia are outgoing Prime Minister Andrej Bajuk and outgoing Foreign Minister Lojze Peterle. Following today's informal talks, the pair are expected to discuss issues concerning the Initiative, including EU and NATO membership, Stability Pact and strengthening of economic co-operation, during Saturday's official part of the summit. Yugoslavia is expected to become a member of the CEI on Saturday.
