Merger Prospects for Slovenia's SKB Bank

At least 150 percent of book value per share is being offered by foreign banks interested in merging with the largest Slovene private commercial bank SKB banka, Finance reported on Monday quoting unofficial information. The French bank Societe Generale, the Belgium KBC bank, Italy's Unicredito and Austria's Raiffeisen Zentralbank and Bank Austria are among the most serious bidders. Potential SKB's strategic partners are also offering fresh capital to increase the bank's funds, the business paper said.
